Having opened in 1929, The Diner has been serving some of State
College’s most iconic foods for 89 years with the most famous of them all being Grilled Stickies. If The Diner closes, the five locations that currently serve Grilled Stickies will have no way of continuing to produce them for the enjoyment of local's and Penn Stater's. This would mean no splitting stickies during State College Spikes’ home games or between friends at The Corner Room. That blue and white box is a heartwarming reminder of relatives announcing new family members, my friends tearing up over bad boyfriends, and my love for the traditional experiences of being a Penn State student.

The owner announced that the lease will expire on April 21st and the restaurant may close as early as April 1st unless a new owner steps in and takes over the business. In order to keep this retro styled business alive, we have created this petition to help our voices match our support. We hope that by seeing this petition alongside the signatures of all locals and their families, PennState alumni and students, that a new owner will be motivated to secure The Diner for future generations, to keep the love of Grilled Stickies alive and not just a nostalgic memory.
