A Minute’s Silence for Ryan Griffin – A Tribute from the Blues Family

The Issue

On 22nd August, we sadly lost our beloved Ryan Griffin, a devoted Birmingham City supporter who many of you may know from Blues social media groups and fan communities.

Ryan was a Blues fan all his life. Born in the heart of Birmingham, he later moved away from the city with his family, but that never changed his love for Birmingham City. He followed every game and attended as many matches as he possibly could. The Blues were always a huge part of who Ryan was.

Many supporters will remember Ryan from social media, where his humorous, witty, sarcastic and often brutally honest posts about the games brought laughter to so many people. Through these groups, Ryan made some wonderful friendships, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to know him, chat with him, laugh with him and make him feel part of the Blues family.

Since hearing of Ryan’s sudden passing, we have been overwhelmed by the kind messages, memories and tributes from fellow Blues supporters. It has meant more to our family than we can put into words.

Those who knew Ryan personally will know that he was one of the kindest, most honest and funniest people you could ever meet. He had a huge heart, loved his family fiercely and had a way of making people laugh simply by being himself.

Above all, Ryan was an amazing dad to his little boy, who he adored and showered with love. He had so much more life to live, so many more memories to make and so many more matches to watch. He would never have chosen to leave his family and his life this early.

We have so many incredibly special memories of Ryan that we will treasure forever. We would love to create one more special memory in his honour — one that brings together the football club he loved and the supporters who loved seeing him as part of their Blues community.

💙 Our request 💙

We are asking Birmingham City Football Club to honour Ryan with a minute’s silence at a forthcoming Blues match at St Andrew’s.

We would be so incredibly grateful for the opportunity for Ryan’s family, friends and fellow supporters to stand together and remember him — surrounded by the club and the people he loved.

If you knew Ryan, followed his posts, laughed at his football banter, or simply believe that a fellow Blues fan deserves to be remembered at the place he loved, please sign this petition.

Every signature will help us show Birmingham City FC just how much Ryan meant to the Blues community.

We know Ryan would have been incredibly proud to see the Blues family come together for him.

One more memory.
One more moment.
One minute for Ryan.

💙 Keep Right On for Ryan. 💙

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who signs, shares, remembers Ryan and has shown our family such incredible kindness.
