Animal welfare in Ireland is in crisis. The G.A.A. are hosting hare coursing and fox hunting meetings on their lands around Ireland. The Greyhound Industry are melting out horrendous abuse to both greyhounds and wildlife. A.I.B. by promoting and sponsoring both those groups enable horrific cruelty. Hare coursing and fox hunting prosper because G.A.A. grounds give them access to facilities, cafes, parking, toilets and permits for gatherings, which they may not have otherwise.
The Greyhound Industry will not account for over 10,000 missing greyhounds, believed slaughtered. They practice live baiting (blooding), burning dogs with acid, cutting off their ears to conceal their identity, starving and drugging. They also export dogs to countries where there are little or no animal welfare laws, like China, Spain and Pakistan where they are skinned alive, beaten, hung, eaten and treated atrociously.
Let's ask A.I.B. to show compassion and consider animal welfare before they pledge money to organisations who will use it to abuse animals.
