A Fresh Start: Oppose Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker
We, the American people signing this petition, supported Democratic majorities in the House and Senate because we wanted real change. We voted for leadership that would challenge the status quo, address our country’s urgent needs, and put the American people first.

Electing Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker would fail to deliver the fresh start we sought.

We oppose Jeffries because of his support for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and our concerns about its influence on American foreign policy. We want leaders who make decisions based on the needs of their constituents, independent of pressure from powerful donors and lobbying organizations.

The war involving the United States, Israel, and Iran underscores the stakes. We demand an independent foreign policy that protects American lives, avoids unnecessary wars, and holds every alliance accountable to the interests of the American people. Support for the Israeli government’s priorities should never take precedence over that responsibility.

At home, Americans face unaffordable housing, rising health care costs, and economic insecurity. These challenges deserve sustained attention and resources. We want a Congress committed to improving life in our communities.

Our opposition to Jeffries is a demand for accountability and a different direction. Winning majorities is only the beginning. Those victories must produce meaningful change in how our country is governed and whose voices carry weight.

We urge Democratic representatives to choose a different Speaker—someone committed to peace, accountable government, and putting the American people ahead of lobbying interests.

We voted for change. We expect our representatives to deliver it.
