The Issue

Rogelio has spent years proving that he is more than the mistakes that brought him to prison.

During his incarceration, he has committed himself to rehabilitation. He has completed numerous classes and programs, worked in the law library helping others, participated in Spanish Club, and consistently used his time to learn, grow, and prepare for life after incarceration.

For the past three years, he has also faced ongoing medical complications that have kept him in and out of medical units. His family believes he would have a much better opportunity to heal at home, surrounded by people ready to support his health and successful return to the community.

Rogelio is now applying to Governor Kathy Hochul for clemency and a commutation of his sentence.

He is not asking anyone to erase his past. He is asking for the chance to show that rehabilitation matters, that people can change, and that the work he has done deserves to be considered.

He has a family waiting for him, a support system ready to help him succeed, and a plan for rebuilding his life.

Please sign this petition asking Governor Hochul to give Rogelio’s clemency application meaningful consideration and give him the opportunity to come home.
