A Declaration for Constitutional Restoration
July 4, 2025
When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for the people of the United States to reaffirm the principles of liberty, justice, and equality upon which this nation was founded—and to reject the forces of tyranny, corruption, and oppression that seek to undermine them—a decent respect for the opinions of humanity requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to do so.
We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all people are created equal, regardless of race, gender, religion, origin, or identity; that they are endowed with certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; and that governments are instituted to secure these rights, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
Yet, when a leader and his enablers systematically dismantle these principles, the people not only have the right but the duty to demand accountability, to restore justice, and to ensure that no person—no matter how powerful—stands above the law.
A List of Grievances Against Donald J. Trump and His Enablers
The history of the present administration is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of authoritarian rule over a free people. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world:
1. Assault on Democracy – He incited a violent insurrection on January 6, 2021, in an attempt to overturn a free and fair election, betraying his oath to defend the Constitution.
2. Corruption and Self-Enrichment – He and his family have exploited the presidency for personal profit, turning the government into a vehicle for private gain while disregarding ethics and the public trust.
3. Attacks on the Rule of Law – He has obstructed justice, intimidated witnesses, and sought to weaponize the Department of Justice against political opponents, undermining the independence of the judiciary.
4. Cruelty and Inhumanity – His administration has separated families at the border, imprisoned children in cages, deported both immigrants and U.S. citizens, and pursued policies of deliberate suffering against the most vulnerable.
5. Encouragement of White Supremacy and Bigotry – He has embraced racist rhetoric, defended Confederate symbols, and emboldened and pardoned violent extremists, dividing the nation along racial and ethnic lines.
6. Suppression of Truth and the Free Press – He has lied incessantly, labeled factual reporting "fake news," and sought to delegitimize journalism, eroding public trust in facts and reason.
7. Disregard for Public Health – He downplayed a deadly pandemic, spread dangerous misinformation, and failed to protect American lives, leading to unnecessary suffering and death.
8. Environmental Destruction – He rolled back climate protections, favored polluters over people, and ignored science, jeopardizing the planet for future generations.
9. Abuse of Power – He has extorted and alienated foreign allies for personal political gain, as seen in his attempt to blackmail Ukraine, betraying national security for his own benefit.
10. Cult of Personality Over Country – His followers, at his direction, have abandoned their oaths to the Constitution, choosing blind loyalty over truth, democracy, and justice.
In every stage of these oppressions, we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: through elections, through protests, through the courts. Yet our voices have been met with contempt, lies, and further abuses. A so-called leader whose character is thus marked by every act which defines a tyrant is unfit to govern a free people.
Our Solemn Resolution
We, therefore, the people of the United States, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions should that be our individual choice, do solemnly declare:
That we reject Donald J. Trump’s authoritarianism and demand accountability for his crimes;
That we recommit to the Constitution, not as a tool for partisan power, but as a shield for liberty and justice for all;
That we stand against racism, cruelty, and corruption, and for equality, decency, and truth;
That we honor the struggles of those excluded from the original Declaration—Black Americans, Native peoples, women, immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals—and affirm that their rights are non-negotiable;
That we pledge to rebuild democracy and our constitutional republic, ensuring that no future leader can trample on our institutions without consequence.
For the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor—not in rebellion against America, but in defense of its truest ideals.
Signed this day by those who believe in justice, equality, and the rule of law.
