I am writing this petition as the daughter of Hassan Hamka, to speak to his character, his faith, and the kind of man he has always been to his family and community.

My father is a lawful permanent resident of the United States, compassionate, and deeply principled man. Throughout my life, I have watched him dedicate his time and efforts to his family, his mosque, and his broader community. He has always believed in service — showing up for others, offering help without being asked, and leading by example through kindness, humility, and integrity.

For over six months, my father has remained in ICE detention while his legal case proceeds. During this time, our family has experienced immense emotional hardship due to his prolonged absence. As a father, he has always been a source of stability, guidance, and unconditional support. Being separated from him for such an extended period has been painful, not only because we miss him, but because his presence is central to our family’s well-being. 

We are asking family members, friends, and community members to sign this petition in support of my father. The signatures and comments will serve as a collective statement of his good moral character and may be presented to the judge at his trial. Each comment reflecting your personal experience with my father as a parent, community member, or faithful participant in mosque and community events will help illustrate the kind of man he is.

Hassan Hamka is a man of integrity, responsibility, and faith. He is deeply respected by those who know him and has consistently demonstrated compassion and care for others. This petition represents the voices of people who know him best — as a father, a friend, a neighbor, and a community member.
