A few weeks ago this petition was closed when we were told that Lance was killed.  It took a great deal of effort to confirm that this was not true.  But today I finally got the proof needed to reopen the petition and continue the fight to get Lance out of the shelter alive.  We have learned he was moved to an area in the back of the shelter out of public view and he remains in cruel solitary confinement against NY State Agriculture and Market Laws.  

We must act as quickly as possible to get Lance to safety with a rescue or sanctuary and have a proper evaluation done by a qualified trainer.  This can not happen at the shelter due to lack of qualified staff and an acting director who lacks all compassion for the animals in her care.  Please contact her and all Hempstead NY town officials and demand that Lance be removed from solitary confinement and allowed to go to a reputable rescue.  The rescue can provide the training he needs as we are collecting funds to pay for it which will thereby give Lance a chance at adoption.

Time is short as they are still planning to kill Lance.  He is part of an investigation which makes euthanizing him difficult but they will kill him at the first opportunity.  We need about 500 more signatures so please please share.
