We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about reversing racial and social gains in light of recent political and corporate decisions. Inspired by the legacy of civil rights leaders like Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we recognize the power of collective economic action to effect change.

 

Ford's decision to end some of its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives is a step backward. Therefore, we pledge to boycott Ford products for 40 months.

 

This boycott aims to:

 • Protest Ford's abandonment of DEI initiatives. We believe these initiatives are crucial for creating a just and equitable workplace and society.

 

 • Demand Corporate Accountability. Companies must be held responsible for decisions that undermine the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 

 • Promote Economic Activism. We will harness our collective economic power to advocate for social justice and progress towards a more kinder inclusive world.

 

 • Reaffirm Commitment to DEI. We strive to create a civil society where inclusion is expected, diversity is honored, and equity is the norm.

 

 • Honor the Legacy of Civil Rights Leaders. We draw inspiration from figures like Dr. King, who championed economic boycotts as a tool for peaceful protest and social change.

 

 • Advocate for a More Equitable Society. We envision a world where companies support equality and inclusion, and justice prevails for our common humanity.

 

Historical boycotts, from the fight against apartheid to more recent actions, have proven the effectiveness of collective economic action. We believe that uniting our voices and spending power can influence corporate behavior and promote a more just and equitable world.
