We are going to Parliament!!

💜 HUGE UPDATE — CAITLIN’S LAW IS HEADING TO PARLIAMENT 💜
Today marks another major step forward for Caitlin’s Law.
Emma Hurst MP has officially given Notice of Motion in the NSW Legislative Council to seek leave to introduce the Coroner’s Amendment (Caitlin’s Law) Bill.
The proposed Bill would amend the Coroners Act 2009 to give a coroner the power to determine who should be the Senior Next of Kin for coronial proceedings.
The NSW Government has not introduced this reform — so we are taking it to Parliament ourselves.
What started with Caitlin’s story, a devastating loophole and a determination that no other family should experience what ours did has now reached the floor of NSW Parliament.
This does not mean the law has passed. There are still hurdles ahead, debates to be had and votes that must be won. But Caitlin’s Law is now a Bill prepared by Parliamentary Counsel and taking its next step through Parliament.
To every single person who signed this petition, shared Caitlin’s story, contacted an MP or stood beside us — you helped get us here.
We are not finished.
Now we fight to get Caitlin’s Law passed.
For Caitlin. For victims. For the families who come after us.
Control should never continue beyond life. 💜
