A call for the Reinstatement of Our former WHS Handicapping Service Provider

A call for the Reinstatement of Our former WHS Handicapping Service Provider

The Issue

We were promised a world-class golf handicapping system and a seamless transition from our previous provider.

The Reality

Despite promises of a world-class golf handicapping system and a seamless transition, the current provider has repeatedly failed to meet the needs of the golfing community:

  • No Historical Index Data: Players, team Captains, or tournament organizers lack access to historical handicap data from previous months.
  • No Automated Course Handicap Views: The absence of automated course handicap calculations for various courses and tee mounts complicates the system.
  • Exclusion of NOMADS Members: NOMADS members face significant enrollment challenges, leaving many non-club golfers without valid handicaps.
  • The inability to automatically create player groups either in intra-teams or tournaments with instant access to current and historical handicap indexes.
  • Delay inaccurate or no response to email queries.
  • Not user-friendly.

The Call for Change

We need a handicapping provider we can trust to deliver on its promises. WHS.ph has a proven track record of providing precise, user-friendly, and compliant handicap assessments under the World Handicap System guidelines. Under their stewardship, golfers enjoyed an efficient and reliable service, fostering confidence in the game’s fairness. The recent transition has brought unnecessary complications, diminished satisfaction, and jeopardized the integrity of our competition.

What We’re Asking For

We urge the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) to reinstate our former service provider, WHS.ph, as our official golf handicapping provider. This is not just about reverting to the familiar—it’s about restoring a system that works and prioritizing the interests of the golfing community.

Fairness, accuracy, and integrity should be the foundation of our golf handicapping system. Unfortunately, our current provider, NGAPWHS.ph, has consistently fallen short of the standards expected by our dedicated golfing community. There is a stark disparity between what was promised and what has been delivered, leading to widespread dissatisfaction.

As passionate golf enthusiasts, we look to NGAP to select a handicapping service that truly reflects our standards and values. Restoring WHS.ph is essential for preserving the spirit and integrity of our sport.

Together, let’s stand for a return to fairness, reliability, and the joy that golf brings to our lives.
