The Issue

If you live in the Twin Cities, you'll know that traffic is just a normal thing to expect, especially if you travel around the southeastern part of the Twin Cities. Cottage Grove, Newport, St. Paul Park, South St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights, Mendota Heights, Eagan, and so many more cities have to go through one bridge: the 494 bridge that connects South St. Paul to Newport. This bridge is one of the biggest arteries of the Twin Cities, and it is almost always congested, even on the weekends.

It isn't enough. The 494 bridge is simply not enough. It's no wonder why it's always congested, when so many people and so many cities need it to get anywhere. That's where a second bridge comes in. A second bridge that connects St. Paul Park to Inver Grove Heights would introduce a new artery into the road network of the southern Twin Cities, and would alleviate some of the stress off of the 494 bridge and redirect it to this bridge, ultimately smoothening out the traffic situation in the Twin Cities at large.
