This petition is to fight for justice and recognition for Willie "Big Will" Cooper, (58)  Chicago Businessman & Community Leader. He was murdered on July 15, 2017 at 4:15 pm , just steps away from his Anti- Violence Non- Profit organization that he ran in the Princeton Park community on the Southside of Chicago. This leader has provided jobs to teens and ex-offenders, Cooper fought against gun violence and has changed the lives of many community residents. Willie has been a great activist and has worked with many of Illinois politicians to fight against gun violence. Cooper is affectionately considered by community residents as the "Mayor" of 95th street.

 Mr. Cooper, has been actively involved in positive change within his community for over 15 yrs. He has saved the lives of many young men by keeping them out of street gangs and has made peace among street gang rivals. Cooper has a reputation for motivating young men and women all over the city to stay in school, he has personally provided jobs to teens and ex-offenders to keep them off the street, ultimately providing them with the opportunity to earn a decent wage to care for their families and work on personal development. Cooper has been the pioneer and heart of his family, He was loved and respected by thousands of people for all of his hard work and dedication to promote peace while helping others enhance their lives. Cooper has been a great humanitarian within his lifetime and will remain in the hearts of thousands of people.

We are asking that we fight for his justice to ensure that he gets the credit and recognition from the city of Chicago for all of the outstanding contributions that he has provided in the Princeton Park & Fernwood communities. His family is asking that he receives a street name in his honor on the corner of 95th / LaSalle ave. where he was assassinated.
