To our utter disgust and disbelief , our family left the uk as social services decided to turn this into a child protection case !!! we went to them for a little respite until joes ehcp was being completed ( and the crisis team referred us aswell for some respite), but the social worker said that autism isnt classed as a disability and they cannot offer respite , but foster care , i then made a formal complaint about her suggesting this , that is still not been responded too ! This social worker then decided to hand her notice in and say we are emotionally neglecting my children as they arent at school ( joe was awaiting a private tutor and my other 2 had 100% attentance , this turned into social services telling lots of lies with what the situation was with joe and although i sent all the evidence in to essex county council , they were still able to carry on in this disgusting manner ....we decided not to stay in the u.k in the light that my poor sons needs were being turned into such a horrific ordeal with social services . They even went on to saying his diagnoses from great ormond street was probably wrong as he acts different at home , it is a shame as he did get a full ehcp , but it was ruined by social services , they said we were refusing help , which was not true he was awaiting an autism specalist to work with us at home and he was finally on a waiting list for therapy , but social services decided to put all 3 on child protection on the grounds that they are at signuficant harm from emotional abuse as i posted this change org and was trying to gain sympathy ! All i can advise is that if you ever need help , never ask social services for any or complain about them , as the system is corrupt . I have still demanded a full investigation into this ...... as it has been extremely distressing that civil servants can lie like this .
