7-11- Please Don’t Build on the SW corner of Windermere & Stoneybrook West

The Issue

Kids go to school here.

Families live here.

Little league plays here.

Does a gas station belong?

A gas station on this corner may create as many as 76 conflict points

between cars and young children walking or biking to school, every

school morning.

Childhood obesity and chronic disease rates are serious concerns.

Shouldn’t we be creating environments that encourage children to

walk and bike to school?

Alcohol and tobacco sales don’t belong next to youth baseball fi elds

and playgrounds. Tanks and pumps full of known carcinogens and

hazardous compounds don’t belong within mere feet of houses.

This area can develop into something that makes the entire community

a better, more vibrant, healthier place. The first site to be built

will set the tone for future development to come.

That’s what we think. But what do you thin

Think about it.

Attend a community meeting to learn more and share your thoughts

the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 16th. at City Hall.

Please speak up.
