We are requesting that Sumter County Sheriff's Office and Office of the State Attorney to re-track their decision to allow a murder to be released on bond with restrictions, surrounding the shooting death of our loved one, David Mitchell.  A 20 plus years resident of Americus, Ga.  Once he learned he would be first time father, he relocated to Kingsland, Ga.  David Mitchel now leaves behind his 3-year-old son whom will never know him in the full capacity of being a great dad.  If you could only imagine the devastation and heartbreak my family and I felt in the finding out his killer was released from jail. David, was senselessly killed on Jan. 23, 2021.  David was a loving son, father, brother and friend to so many. David was lawfully siting in his car in a shopping plaza after a word exchange with Jarrod Griffin, was shot 14 times, to his death in broad day light where many innocent people witnessed this cold blooded murder and could have very much so been hurt themselves.  

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is working with the Americus Police Department on this murder case.  This petition is in efforts to overturn the release of this murder and hopes to get resolution on how Law Enforcement can allow the shooting suspect, 22-year-old Jaron Sharod Griffin told his 14-year-old brother to bend down before shooting David to his death.  Jaron Griffin was released with a curfew after shooting David Mitchell the victim 14 times through his driver side window with no chance of survival.  I am only continuing that duty now by trying to get as many people as possible to help keep this monster in jail.  Just think about David sitting in his car helpless, with no way out, knowing this murderer was shooting to kill him...

WE DEMAND JUSTICE AND FOR JARON GRIFFING TO GET OFF OF THE STREETS OF AMERICUS, GEORGIA!!  

We demand the media acknowledge that there is a journalistic responsibility to society at large in how these cases are reported on and handled due to the sensitive nature of our love one David Mitchell.  We are requesting the media outlets to use their platforms in perpetuating a culture of violence against black on black crime and stop humanizing and glamourizing these violators in this tragic real life story.
