Due to COVID-19, students at Drew University have been forced to leave campus for at least three weeks and have all classes online via Zoom. Our food court has been shut down to the point where food has to be prepared to go, and no one is allowed to enjoy the open space they did during the first semester. Students are from all over the country and we have hundreds of international students who are at risk of having to fly home. $17,430 is the total cost of room and board, textbooks and meal plans for the entire year and COVID-19 has prevented students from taking advantage of living and dining on campus. In addition to having to move off campus, students are also expected to cover the cost (if any) or renting a vehicle to transport their belongings home. These issues are a deep concern to these students because some of these students and their families are financially struggling even for the student to attend this university. If you sign this petition, you will be helping thousands of university students by reliving the financial stress of COVID-19 and having to adjust their learning. Drew University has hundreds of engineering, economic, psychology, theater, photography, political - science, biology, neuroscience, chemistry, communication, public health, government, and many more majors.
