38 Collisions Since 2022 — This Intersection Needs a Protected Left Turn

The Issue

Petition for a Protected Left‑Turn Signal at anchor Creek Way & Main St.

We, the residents of Bridgewater and the surrounding neighborhoods and the Holly Springs community, are requesting a dedicated/protected left‑turn signal at the intersection of Anchor Creek Way onto Main Street

This intersection has become increasingly dangerous. During peak hours, the green light lasts only 20–40 seconds, allowing just a few cars through. Left‑turning drivers are often stuck in the middle of the intersection and forced to complete their turn on a red light. Since 2022, there have been 38 collisions, several involving injuries.

With heavy pedestrian traffic — including kids walking to Ting Park — and the upcoming expansion from Ting Park to the North Athletic Complex, this problem will only get worse.

A protected left‑turn signal will reduce collisions, improve traffic flow, and keep our community safe.

Our Town of Holly Springs is wonderful but the ones in charge are NCDOT and we urge them to take action now.
