3 demands to LFIS HK: tuition fee rebate, educational continuity, long term transparency

The Issue

With COVID-19 outbreak, schools have been shut down in HK for close to 3 months now. While we all appreciate the difficulty it represents, the LFIS Board has not done any engagement to discuss with families the subject of fees and also educational support remains insufficient. Until they announced their plan to increase fees by 2.5% for next year without any consultation or discussion with families and parents who are supporting the school and showing solidarity. Unfortunately this does not seem to be both ways. Also this is not in line with what other International schools in HK have recently announced or done (e.g. ESF). Since then the Board has decided to go back on next year's fees...at last and partly thanks to our mobilization.

Following recent invoice for April-June tuition fee and Board communication, a survey has shown that a majority is not satisfied with LFIS actions and see 3 priorities to be addressed: short term tuition fee to be reduced, lack of educational continuity and lack of long term transparency.

We will continue the dialogue but also be vigilant that honest, clear and fair answers are brought.

Thank you for your support.
