In Clemson, SC, the majority of the urgent care centers nearby are only open until 5:00 PM on weekends. Other than that, the closest health care facility that is open 24 hours is the Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital Emergency Room which is 20 minute drive away from Clemson Campus. This is incredibly inconvenient for students if they were injured or needed medical attention on campus during the weekend. Also, many Clemson students don't have access to a car which prevents them from being able to get to the hospital. This lack of access to medical care on the weekends and during the evening hours is a major barrier to the health and safety to Clemson students. We propose adding a 24 hour urgent care services at Redfern Health Center for Clemson students.
