Keep 24 hour fitness kid's club open

Keep 24 hour fitness kid's club open
The Issue
24 Hour Fitness in Anaheim Hills is closing the Kid’s Club (Day Care) service at the end of November.
Help save parents’ health by signing this petition to keep the day care open!
To many of us that use this amenity, this is a really big deal. I think a reason for a lot of people to not take care of themselves is they don’t have the time to exercise. To find a new gym that will provide daycare and add commute time isn’t a health promotion to our community. This is not a change parents want to make. It’s also hard for the kids. The wonderful staff that work there know our kids by name and our kids know them! I’ve been told there are only a few positions available for these caregivers and many of them will be out of a job. As neighbors this is often where we see one another and get that sense of community. It’s a club we want to be part of and we don’t want to be excluded because of our need for child services. Those who have taken the classes at 24 hour fitness know how amazing the instructors are. Those that have a personal trainer and a child/children will no longer be able to easily support these trainers at our Anaheim location, again leading to less jobs.
If 24 hour fitness chooses to keep this amenity open it will continue to support Anaheim’s community and family health, keep and encourage more families to live in this area, support its current employee’s and most likely keep their current paying parent patron customers.
If kid’s club is shut down, I believe it will cause a decline in health to many members of our community. Rumors are there will be a renovation (I’m sure this would include removal of the large playground to the tiny toilets) and the new area will be replaced with retail.
As a parent my to do list is never ending and I feel guilty taking the time out of the day for myself to make it to the gym. Other moms have shared with me that they feel this way too. I know that I’m a better mom, wife and person when I exercise. It’s not just about physical health but mental health too. For me the reality is that I don’t have the extra time to drive to another gym, at least not as frequent as I’ve been able to attend the 24 hr fitness here in my Anaheim Hills neighborhood. When my family moved here almost two years ago we choose Anaheim Hills for several reasons and, though it wasn’t a make or break decision with the gym, having a gym close by with daycare was on the list of positives. I hope others that use the Anaheim Hills 24 Hour Fitness but aren’t using Kid’s Club will see the benefit it has for us as a community and that the management of 24 Hour Fitness will choose to promote health and families in our neighborhood.
