Earlier this week, 24 Hour Fitness terminated employees as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic.  Specifically, after over 20 years of service and dedication, they terminated Micki Stary, Senior Director of the GX Fitness program.  No severance, no notice.  But they did hire three MEN to replace her with 1/2 the experience and tenure.  

This happened across the board as long-time employees were terminated in favor of cheaper, less experienced employees.  I'm urging everyone to either freeze or terminate their memberships until 24 Hour Fitness re-aligns itself with the health and fitness of its members FIRST.  These employees stuck with 24HF through the  pandemic, did not seek other jobs, did not seek to abandon 24HF and work for others.  Their loyalties stayed with their employer who repaid them by terminating them with a five minute phone call.  

Of note, 24 Hour Fitness is branded a Military Friendly Employer. Its on a plaque inside EVERY club.  THIS is not how the military treats people.  We don't leave people behind, we stick it out together and follow through on the mission.
