Dear Mayor Naheed Nenshi,

With harsh winter weather approaching, we have come to the realization that our city lacks an adequate and essential animal rescue service. If a stray, lost, or abandoned animal is spotted after hours - which typically tends to occur - there is no one available to come out and rescue the animal. We, as citizens, are already doing what we can by noticing an animal in need and calling for help. It does not make sense that we are also required to trap the animal and take them in. In most instances, trying to catch a frightened animal without a proper team and equipment is almost impossible, regardless of how good our intentions are. 

WE REQUIRE A 24-HOUR ANIMAL RESCUE SERVICE WHERE OFFICERS ARE AVAILABLE TO COME OUT AND CATCH STRAY ANIMALS WHEN NEEDED.

We request that the city put such a structure into place as these animals are helpless and require such a service, especially in the wintertime.
