They Took the Hunt Out of Predator—Let’s Take It Back!

I’ve been a Predator fan for as long as I can remember. The original film wasn’t just another action flick—it was a masterclass in tension, strategy, and survival. Every sequel, for better or worse, at least tried to honor that legacy. Then came The Predator (2018)—a complete disaster that mocked everything that made this franchise legendary.

Lazy writing. Sloppy editing. Ridiculous characters. And the final act? A disgrace that turned the Predator from an apex hunter into a joke. Instead of delivering a gripping, strategic battle for survival, it gave us cringeworthy humor, a convoluted plot, and a total lack of respect for the mythos.

This movie has no place in Predator canon. If we don’t act, it will continue to stain the franchise’s legacy and shape its future in the worst way possible.

That’s why I’m calling on 20th Century Studios to officially remove The Predator (2018) from canon and restore the franchise to its roots. If enough of us raise our voices, they’ll have no choice but to listen.

If we let this slide, future Predator films could follow in its misguided footsteps, further dragging the franchise down. But if The Predator (2018) is erased from canon, it opens the door for high-quality sequels—like Prey (2022), which proved that authentic, well-crafted Predator stories still have a place in cinema.

The franchise’s future is being decided right now. Prey’s success shows there’s hope, but we need to act before the studio commits to the wrong vision. Every signature is a step toward restoring Predator’s legacy. Let’s act before it’s too late!
