Most small businesses and "67% of Americans are living with financial hardships directly related to escalating fuel costs."
>>> >>> THE CULPRIT(S)
Numerous players influence the cost of gas. To name a few: global markets, refining oil into gas, OPEC, state & fed taxes, futures, price of oil, volatility in the Middle East, demand in China and India, the EPA, profits, political obstructionism, over consumption, lack of technology to reduce oil dependence, clean renewable energy, marketing, distribution and fuel efficiency in cars & trucks. This is not, even though many would like us to believe, due to the failings of one person or political party. It should be that simple.
>>> >>> THE SOLUTION
Bring as many players as possible to the table to figure out how to lower costs. Profit is good. Profit motivates. Profit is the “oil” that drives our economy. However, sometimes there needs to be balance between profit and the unintentional harm resulting from those profits. To bring these players to the same table we motivate G&O to apply their resources and brilliant business moxie to initiate dialogue.
>>> >>> CORPORATIONS ARE, after all,
people. So now we can see what lies in their hearts. (What were those altacockers smoking when they knighted corporations with the unalienable rights to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness?)
>>> >>> WHAT CAN WE DO
Sign petition so G&O know of the planned boycott. An inconvenience to us but brings G&O and their shareholders tsuris each and every day until solutions are found. (Consider the impact on small business and the average American when spending $4 to $5 per gallon each and every time they fill the tank.)
************** BOYCOTT STARTS MAY 1ST
***** MONTH OF MAY:
1. Do not purchase gasoline from any service station selling EXXONMOBILE.
2. Do not purchase gasoline from GROCERY STORES, CONVENIENT STORES and WALMART.
No way to know the source of gas for grocery and convenience stores. Could be EXXON or ???.
***** MONTH OF JUNE:
1. Do not purchase gasoline from any service station selling EXXONMOBILE and SHELL.
2. Do not purchase gasoline from GROCERY STORES, CONVENIENT STORES, WALMART and HOME DEPOT.
***** MONTH OF JULY:
1. Do not purchase gasoline from any service station selling EXXONMOBILE, SHELL and CHEVRON.
2. Do not purchase gasoline from GROCERY STORES, CONVENIENT STORES, WALMART, HOME DEPOT and COSTCO.
If necessary we slowly add MARATHON, CITGO, BP, VALERO, CONOCOPHILLIPS, SUNOCO, etc. Even if China gobbles up what isn't sold in the U.S. this will still be very costly and a PR nightmare for G&O corporations.
"I was watching that movie Mad Max, you know that movie where gas is so precious that people are killing each other for a few gallons. It was set in the future -- I believe it was August." --Jay Leno
>>> >>> UNITED STATES ONLY?
No! Support will be accepted and appreciated no matter where it takes place.
>>> >>> TARGET / EXPECTATIONS
Average Unleaded Gas in U.S. $2.99 or less and price increases based on COLA.
>>> >>> THIS IS AWFULLY NAIVE
Damn right but gives the "99%" something specific to bring about change while not replacing efforts to reduce fossil fuel dependency. We can't just sit back and expect the gov't to come to our rescue. (Governments aren't "people". Be real!)
>>> >>> IS THIS SUSTAINABLE
Intention is to improve current anf future gas-related needs without compromising the needs of future generations.
>>> >>> BI-PARTISAN SUPPORT
DEMOCRATS won't want to reduce taxes and REPUBLICANS won't want to reduce G&O profits. Guess what; we can't always get everything we want. Are you in politics to lead & inspire or dominate & alienate? We expect collaboration not clobberation.
“If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal.” – Emma Goldman
>>> >>> SUBSIDIES - (SIGNING PUTS CONGRESS ON NOTICE)
If congressional leaders want to be re-elected we demand they inform G&O next year's budget will not include welfare checks – that come to about $4 billion dollars a year. Do our politicians not realize how transparent they are when they struggle to justify these subsidies?
>>> >>> WE CAN DO IT
May 1st gives us time to spread the word. Please don’t wait until gas exceeds $4.00 a gallon before you say, “Well, guess it’s time to do something.” And if you know anyone in the press or media – take ‘em for lunch. We need their help to get the word out.

WE CAN REDUCE THE COST OF GAS IF WE TAKE THIS APPROACH IN LARGE NUMBERS. And it isn't hyperbole or scare tactics to say it won't be long before it takes a $100 bill to fill our gas tank - every week!
