Hi everyone! I’m Kali Bork, and I’m running for our 1L Class Vice President! Since starting law school, one of the things that has been most important to me is building a strong sense of community within our class. We’re all going through this crazy experience together, and if elected, I hope to help make sure that, even when school gets stressful, our overall experience is positive, supportive, and memorable for everyone.

Before law school, I attended Michigan State University, where I had the opportunity to serve in student government through ASMSU and as Social Chair of Spartans Rebuilding Michigan. Through student government, I worked with student organizations and helped make decisions about how resources could best serve different groups and needs across campus. Those experiences taught me the importance of listening to different perspectives, making thoughtful decisions, bringing people together, and creating opportunities for students to get involved. I’d love to bring my previous experience into this role while helping create ways for our class to connect and support one another. Our class is made up of people with so many different backgrounds, experiences, strengths, and goals, and I hope to help foster a community that embraces those differences and gives everyone a place to feel connected and involved.

All of us came to law school with our own individual goals and aspirations. If given the opportunity to serve as Vice President, I’d work to help connect our class with the resources and opportunities we need to pursue those goals, while also promoting opportunities for us to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another. Whether there’s something you’d like to see our class do, a resource you think would be helpful, or something that could simply make our 1L experience better, I’d love to hear everyone’s feedback and represent our class.

I’ve already loved getting to know so many of you, and I would genuinely love the opportunity to represent our class as Vice President. Our 1L year is such a unique experience, and I hope to help make it one we can look back on knowing that we accomplished what we came here to do, built meaningful relationships along the way, and made the most of this first year together.
