19-Year-Old Lenora’s Dying Wish

The Issue

[Final Update as of Feb. 1st, 2024]

Dear friends,

Lenora's mother has received her visa on her passport to visit Canada! Thank you so much. Hoping everything goes smoothly at this point.

In the last two days, we have received an overwhelming amount of support for this petition. Lerona and our family are very grateful.

We also want to kindly remind you that there is NO NEED to pay any money out of pocket! Just a kind reminder that your money is going to change.org to help circulate this petition, BUT your comments, shares, and signatures are already enough! PLEASE, you do not need to spend money to promote this petition.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

[Update as of Jan. 28, 2024]

Lenora would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support.

She wants to share her letter to Immigration Canada with all of you. If you have a moment to read her final thoughts and last letter:

Lenora is happy to read all of your comments and knows people would like to visit her but she apologizes that she wishes to only be in the presence of family members at this time. We encourage you, if you can, to comment why you chose to support this petition. We hope Lenora's mom can be granted entry into Canada for this extenuating circumstance after multiple refusals. Lenora hopes that everyone can understand and is grateful for your compassion.

As mentioned previously, Lenora is fighting against time and doctors have just decided to discontinue chemo and radiotherapy (please see the letter directly below). We are not sure what the next steps are and are patiently waiting for the doctors' decision.

Thank you for your continuous support.

[Update as of Jan. 24, 2024]

We received unfortunate sad news today. The cancer has taken over Lenora's liver. Unfortunately, we are looking at any day now. She no longer has 6 months as doctors have confirmed that her cancer is traveling much faster than the chemo treatment than originally predicted. Her body assessment next week will determine if she is suitable for a 3rd round of chemo. We will keep you all updated. Thank you so much for all the support.

Happy 2024. We wish we had better news to share this new year, but unfortunately we don’t.

Lenora is a 19-year-old University of Toronto student who has recently been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer with an estimated 6 months left on this beautiful earth. According to her doctor, her cancer is incurable as it has metastasized to her liver, lymph nodes, and peritoneum (attached below is a letter from Lenora's doctor). She is fighting against time and longing to share her final moments of life with her beloved mother.

We are asking for your support as Lenora’s mom has been denied entry to Canada multiple times, including recently in October of 2023. We fear that she will be denied this visitor’s visa again.

As Lenora lays in pain in her hospital bed, she has a simple last wish – to be reunited with her mother. We are reaching out to you hoping that with the power of your compassion, empathy, and kindness, we can urge relevant authorities to expedite the process of granting a visitor's visa for Lenora’s mother.

In the face of this devastating illness, we hope that by starting this petition, we can bring comfort to a family facing unimaginable challenges. Lenora and her mother share an unbreakable bond, and this reunion would mean the world to them during this difficult time.

We understand the importance of immigration laws, but we believe that in moments like these, our shared humanity can guide us to make exceptions for the sake of love and compassion. If you have a moment, please help sign and share this petition to show your support for Lenora’s last wish.

Your signature and comments can make a significant impact, and your kindness can bring solace to Lenora and her family.

Thank you for your support and compassion.
