On Wednesday, Nov 4, 2020, my precious dog was gunned down with malice and vicious intent by my next door neighbor...because she was in his yard. Our hearts are broken and we are filled with sadness. We feel such a great loss. We have to endure living next door and looking at the place where the crime occurred every day. I miss her so much. Every day I come home and expect to see her sweet face begging me to take her for a run. We are in the process of getting Justice for her and believe that the person (s) responsible feel no remorse or care.
We are dedicated to making sure that they are held accountable and have begun the beginning stages of serving justice. We will keep people posted on this site as events unfold. No animal should ever be subject to the cruelty that was inflicted on this poor, helpless animal and we aim to make sure that this person pays for the crime that they have committed!
For those of you who don't know the law in the State of Michigan for animal cruelty:
"KNOWING OR RECKLESSLY KILLING, TORTURING, MUTILATING, MAIMING, OR DISFIGURING; OR KNOWINGLY POISONING AN ANIMAL"---
"4 YEARS IMPRISONMENT, $5,000 FINE FOR THE FIRST ANIMAL, $2500 FOR EACH ADDITIONAL ANIMAL WITH $20,000 MAX FINE, 500 HOURS COMMUNITY SERVICE, AND COSTS OF PROSECUTION."

Today was the day of the trial and Judge Elmore only sentenced Matthew Goldsmith to one day in jail for murdering Kita/Raven. Thats not justice. It's literally a slap on the wrist. it's disgusting judge Elmore that you would think that one day in jail is enough of a punishment for animal cruelty. It makes me question what you think is and isn't animal cruelty. And honestly it makes me question whether the animals you have are safe or not if this is how you treat an animal cruelty case. Judge Elmore you need to do what is right punish Matthew Goldsmith for this horrendous crime. We will not stay silent. Kita/Raven will have JUSTICE!!
