The Issue

Our family, residing on the tenth floor of building 1650 at Forest Place Apartments, in North Miami, FL has been bearing the burden of inconsistent elevator service for too long. Since October 2023, the elevators have been regularly out of order one to two times per week, sometimes even more. Such frequent malfunctions pose a severe risk especially to us, as we have a 8-month old baby. In cases of emergencies, we fear it would be impossible to get her downstairs in enough time.

We know that this issue is, unfortunately, not unique to us. The continued failure to maintain adequate elevator service is detrimental to all residents, particularly the elderly, those with mobility issues, and families like us with young children. The unpredictable nature of these outages only exacerbates the hardship, introducing unnecessary stress and potential danger into our daily lives.

We propose that the management of Forest Place Apartments make a concerted effort to permanently fix the elevators in building 1650. This move is not just a matter of convenience—it is a critical safety issue. Ensuring the reliable function of these elevators directly impacts the well-being of all residents and aligns with basic responsibilities for tenant safety.

We urge you to support us in this cause. Please sign this petition to show the management of Forest Place Apartments the gravity of this issue. Together, we can prompt necessary action and create safer living conditions in our community.

State and Federal Representatives for our district have been notified and this petition will be used to show them the impact that this has had on our community.
