100 Million Signatures Against War: Stop the Violence and Killing of Children
The Issue
Wars result in unimaginable suffering to innocent lives. These conflicts are not only cruel, but they inflict permanent harm on the children who survive; many with life-altering injuries.
According to UNICEF, an estimated 420 million children - nearly one-fifth of all children worldwide - are currently living in conflict-affected areas (source: UNICEF). This is a staggering statistic that underscores the urgent need for action. These innocent lives are being disrupted and destroyed by wars they did not create.
The children who do survive are often orphaned, starved and worse. Many grow up with PTSD and are radicalized as a result, becoming the next generation of terrorists.
Children worldwide should be living happily without fear or worry about their safety. They should be learning in schools without the threat of bombings or shootings. They deserve safe environments where they can grow into responsible and compassionate adults who contribute positively to society.

The time has come to stand up against the terror and atrocities committed against future generations under the guise of power struggles and political gain. People everywhere must urge the world's leaders to prioritize peace over violence, dialogue over aggression, and love over hate.
About the creator of this petition: I am an 80-year-old grandfather born during World War 2. I learned about the ugliness of war from my father and uncles who survived. As a grandparent of four young children, ages 1, 3, 5 and 6, I am deeply concerned about their future in a world marred by violence and division.
