I am a resident of East 6th Street in Boyle Heights, where reckless driving and speeding have become a daily danger for our community. Because of the steep hill and proximity to the freeway entrance and exit, cars come flying down the street at unsafe speeds—often too fast to stop. This has led to multiple hit-and-run accidents, causing property damage and putting everyone’s safety at risk.

Our neighborhood includes families with children, elderly residents, and pedestrians who deserve to feel safe on our own street.

An initial email has already been sent to Councilmember Ysabel Jurado’s office requesting the urgent installation of speed humps, but we need strong community support to ensure this issue is prioritized and resolved quickly.
