💛 Update: October 9, 2025 Official Denial Received
After reaching out twice first on September 27, 2025, and again on October 8, 2025 — we finally received a response from the district on October 9, 2025.
The message was brief and painful:
“While I understand and sympathize with your situation, the commencement ceremony is reserved exclusively for current seniors of the Class of 2026. Therefore, we are unable to grant permission for your son to participate.”
This letter came 12 days after our first request, and instead of compassion or a plan for inclusion, it closed the door completely.
All we asked for was a moment for Theo a chance to walk, to be recognized, to feel proud after years of hard work. Instead, the system told us there was no place for him.
This is why we’re fighting for Theo’s Law so that every student, regardless of circumstance or ability, is given the dignity of being celebrated for their achievements. 💛
