バレーボール、2019-20 V・チャレンジマッチ中止決定の撤回及び詳細説明を求めたい
▪︎バレーボールの国内最高峰リーグ、V1リーグに昇格する権利を獲得する入れ替え戦が中止になりました
V・チャレンジマッチは、V1リーグの下位チームとV1ライセンスを保持しているV2リーグの上位チームがV1リーグ参入の権利をかけて行う試合です。
2020年3月9日、Vリーグ機構は、HP上で「V・チャレンジマッチ ～2020-21 V.LEAGUE DIVISION1 MEN 出場決定戦」の中止を発表しました。
発表には、「V・チャレンジマッチ男子大会の順延は行わず、今シーズンのV.LEAGUE DIVISION1・10位VC長野トライデンツとV.LEAGUE DIVISION2・2位ヴォレアス北海道の入替えは行いませんので併せてお知らせ致します。」という決定が記載されています。
▪︎本当にチャレンジマッチは開催できないのか
難しい意思決定が伴うことは想像に難しくないですが、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大のリスクは慎重に捉えながらも、1年間チームを応援し続けてきたVリーグファン、支えてきた地域やパートナー企業の想いを背に、一球一球を大切にしてきたチーム/選手の1年間を水の泡にしてしまうことは、何とか避けられないものでしょうか。
スポーツのルールの中で決まった勝敗であれば、それはフェアな結果ですが、入れ替え戦を実施できる可能性は本当に全くないのか？今回のVリーグの決定を今一度関係者間で議論する余地はあるのではないかと考えます。
またVリーグや他の興行においても無観客での実施の実績はあり、再考の余地があるものと考えます。
▪︎スポーツ・エンターテインメントとは

スポーツ興行をはじめとしたエンターテインメントに関わる仕事を生業にしている人たちにとって、イベントの開催のために現地に向かうことは決して「不要不急な外出」ではないと考えます。
新型コロナウイルス感染拡大のリスクを可能な限り下げる努力をする前提であれば、スポーツ・エンタメが社会にたらす効果や理念に賛同する会場を利用し、例えば無観客試合を開催するような意思決定を下すことを検討する時間は、充分にあるのではないかと考えます。
応援する人たちにとっては、勿論チームと会場に一緒にいることが理想ですが、例え無観客試合になったとしても、「また明日から頑張ろう」と、観る人を元気にしたり、時には子供たちに夢を与えたりするような効果は、スポーツ・エンターテインメントには残るはずです。
▪︎チャレンジマッチ中止決定の撤回を求めたい
Vリーグでプレーする選手たちは、多くの場合普段一般企業で仕事をしながら、トップレベルでのスポーツのプレーを両立しています。
そんな環境下、リーグ戦で良い成績を残すことは、並大抵の努力では実現できません。
どうか最後まで選手たちにチャレンジする権利を与えるよう、Vリーグ機構の方々には再考頂きたいです。
選手、チームはシーズンを通して結果を残すことでその権利を手にしているはずです。
仮にVリーグ機構が下した決定が覆るとして、入れ替え戦の形態がどうなるのか、また最終的に入れ替え戦の結果がどうなるか、誰にもわかりません。
努力が報われる社会を体現するため、スポーツに関わる組織として、模範的な行動を期待しています。
Requesting Volleyball V-League to withdraw the decision to cancel the 2019-20 V Challenge Match and to give a full explanation
The Volleyball Challenge Match, which decides which team is promoted to the highest league in Japan, has been canceled.
The Challenge Match is a match between the lower ranked team of the V1 league and the higher ranked team of the V2 league. It decides who has the right to enter the top-tier V1 league.
On March 9, 2020, the V-League organization announced the cancellation of the Challenge Match on their website.
The announcement stated that the Challenge Match between VC Nagano Tridents who finished tenth in V1 League and Voreas Hokkaido who finished second in V2 League is cancelled and will not be postponed.
Is there any possibility that the Challenge Match can be held?
We understand that the cancellation of the Challenge Match is not an easy decision. Nonetheless, players and team as a whole have kept fighting for every ball for a year, not only for themselves, but for people who have kept supporting them, including V-League fans, the communities and their partners as well. Please come with a decision that protects every single team’s efforts throughout the whole year without making them in vain while also carefully evaluating further spread and infection of the new coronavirus.
According to the rule of sport, whether one wins or loses everyone accepts the results as fair, but without a match what happens to this sense of “fairness”? Is there any chance to host the Challenge Match? We think that there is room for discussion for those who are concerned regarding the decision made by V-League at this moment.
Furthermore, V-League and other sports involved have held matches without spectators. Hence, we consider that there is still room for reconsideration on this matter.
What is sports entertainment?
Although the government has instructed the people to refrain from unnecessary and non-urgent outings, for those who are engaged in sports-related work or other work related to entertainment, going to events is necessary.
It is possible to use venues that support the needed efforts to reduce the risk of the spread of the new coronavirus infection, and also support the positive impact which sports and entertainment can bring to the society. There is plenty of time to consider holding the game without an audience.
Of course, it is ideal for the supporters to be together with the team at the venue, but even if there are no spectators at the game, there will be still some effects to move fans and inspire new dreams in children.
I would like to request the withdrawal of the cancellation of the Challenge Match.
As you know, many of the V-League players have full time jobs while playing volleyball at the top level and have made great sacrifices.
Under such circumstances, the ability to achieve good results in the League has required extraordinary efforts.
Please, I would like the members of the V-League to reconsider their decision and give players the right to see through this challenge to the end.
Players and teams have the right to record their achievements throughout the season.
If the decision made by the V-League is overturned, no one knows what the new match would look like or who will win, but that does not matter.
We hope that the V-League will be a good example as a sports organization that embodies a society where hard work pays off.

記事によると、中止の理由は、
＜1＞スポーツイベント等の自粛に対する社会的要請が強まったこと
＜2＞事態の収束の見通しが立たないこと
＜3＞全日本選手権ファイナルラウンドを中止したこと
＜4＞4月以降の戦力維持が担保できないこと
などを理由に挙げ、ヴォレアス北海道が求める3月～5月への開催延期について「延期できかねます」と結論を下した、とされています。
これらの理由の詳細説明は、記事の中では言及されておらず、本署名活動としては引き続きリーグ機構に経緯を説明する場を設ける要請を出し続けます。
