From the outset we want to make it clear: we are not opposed to reasonable and sustainable upgrade of existing roads that connect to the high mountain communities on this list, and we strongly support improved government maintenance of the existing roads. What we oppose is the construction of a new and entirely unnecessary road, for the reasons set forth in this petition.
