Regarding removal of B.Ed. as an essential qualification for Lt Grade Computer Teacher
The Issue
Dear Sir,
With due respect, we would like to state that UPPSC have advertised 10708 vacancies for Assistant teacher in various subjects. Among them, there are 1548 vacancies of Assistant teacher in Computer Science subject. The qualification for this post is B.Tech. / B.E. (Computer Science) or B.Sc. in Computer Science or B.Sc in Computer Application or Bachelor of Computer Application or Bachelor's degree with 'A' Level course from NIELIT. Apart from this, B.Ed. is also an essential qualification for this post. We would like to draw your attention on following two points:-
First one is that Computer science is not a subject to acquire a B.Ed. degree from a recognized universities of India as it comes under a professional courses. Many other centralized exams such as Kendriya Vidyalay Sanghatan(KVS), Army Public School(APS), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) etc. only ask for BTECH/BE, BCA, MCA, B.Sc(CS), M.Sc.(CS) for teaching posts of Computer Science in their various schools. They have never asked B.Ed. as essential qualification for computer Science teacher. Some other states’ exam such as Dehradun PGT, Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) etc. also do not ask B.Ed. qualification for Computer science teacher. If UP-LT grade does not remove B. Ed. as essential qualification for Assistant Teacher in the Computer Science then many students would not be able to fill the form and lost their bright future in teaching. Moreover, UP schools also would not get quality teachers as many bright computer science students do not go for BED qualification.
Master in Computer application (MCA) should also be allowed apart from B.Tech. / B.E. (Computer Science), B.Sc. in Computer Science, B.Sc in Computer Application, Bachelor of Computer Application , and Bachelor's degree with 'A' Level course from NIELIT. MCA is also a professional degree in computer science. Most of the candidate do MCA after doing Bachelors’ degree in any subject.
Therefore, we would like to request you to remove B.Ed. as an essential qualification for Assistant teacher in Computer Science Subject. And, Kindly allow B. Tech/BE (CS), BCA, MCA, B.Sc(CS), M.Sc.(CS) or equivalent for this post.
We would be highly obelized for consideration as future of a lot of bright students depend on your decisions.
Thanking you
