On June 13th 2019, Netflix launched its first ever Arabic series titled "Jinn". The series tells the story of a group of Jordanian teenagers who experience supernatural phenomena after their school trip to Petra.

Upon its premiere, the series as well as the entire cast were subjected to vicious attacks and threats due to cultural prohibitions. As a reaction to the public outrage, multiple institutions joined the bandwagon in condemning the production.

Freedom of speech and artistic expression are fundamental human rights that must be protected at all costs. Many times, art has challenged norms and fixed mindsets paving the way for the prevalence of creativity and innovation.

في يوم ١٣ حزيران ٢٠١٩ قامت شركة نتفلكس للإنتاج بعرض اول مسلسل عربي بعنوان 'جن'. يروي المسلسل قصة مجموعة من المراهقين الأردنيين وتطرقهم لظاهرة خارقة للطبيعة خلال رحلة مدرسية الى مدينة البتراء.

وما ان تم العرض الأول للمسلسل حتى تعرض طاقم المسلسل لانتقادات واسعة وهجوم عنيف.
وكردة فعل للرأي العام قامت العديد من المؤسسات بالانضمام لمحاربة هذا العمل الفني.

ان حرية التعبير والرأي هي من أساسيات حقوق الإنسان التي يجب الدفاع عنها بأي ثمن. ساهم الفن عبر العصور بتحدي العادات السائدة ومهد الطريق للإبداع والريادية.
