Розблокувати надання зброї та забезпечення навчання для 12-ої бригади «Азов» НГУ від США
Проблема
З 2017 року в законах США про консолідовані асигнування (Consolidated Appropriations Act) міститься поправка про заборону «надання зброї та забезпечення навчання або іншої допомоги для батальйону Азов». Це стало результатом російської пропагандистської кампанії проти «Азову». Тому один із найбоєздатніших підрозділів Сил оборони України не отримує західне озброєння та підготовку, що має безпосередній вплив на хід російсько-української війни. Бойова спроможність «Азову» під час битви за Маріуполь у 2022 році була обмежена відсутністю необхідного західного озброєння, що знизило ефективність оборони міста. Лише завдяки якісній підготовці, високій мотивації та дисциплінованості особового складу, «Азову» вдається виконувати поставленні завдання.
Закликаємо Президента України Володимира Зеленського негайно вжити необхідних дій задля вилучення поправки про заборону надання зброї та забезпечення навчання або іншої допомоги для 12-ої бригади спеціального призначення «Азов» Національної гвардії України від Сполучених Штатів Америки.
Unblocking the provision of weapons and training or other assistance to the 12th Special Forces Brigade Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine from the United States of America.
Since 2017, the US Consolidated Appropriations Act has contained an amendment prohibiting "the provision of arms and training or other assistance to the Azov Battalion." This was the result of Russia's propaganda campaign against Azov. As a result, one of the most capable units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces has not received Western weapons and training, which has a direct impact on the course of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The combat capability of Azov during the Battle for Mariupol in 2022 was limited by the lack of necessary Western weapons, which reduced the effectiveness of the city's defense. It is only through quality training, high motivation and discipline of the personnel that Azov manages to fulfill its tasks.
We call on the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to immediately take the necessary steps to remove the amendment banning the provision of weapons and training or other assistance to the 12th Special Forces Brigade Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine from the United States.
