Stop Council Rate Rises

Across Australia, from Mount Isa to Liverpool, the Northern Beaches to Hobsons Bay, Shoalhaven to the Central Highlands, ratepayers are standing together to reject rate hikes families say they simply cannot afford. With cost-of-living pressures at record highs, rising groceries, rent, mortgages, insurance, fuel and utilities, many households say council rates are becoming the final straw. Yet councils large and small, urban and regional, continue to push through increases of 7%, 10%, 40%, even 55%. Across the nation, ratepayers are demanding answers and mobilising to stop these rises.
