The Trump administration's position on Greenland generated a significant public backlash across a number of European countries in the run up to the World Economic Forum in Davos. President Trump himself sparked further outcry, especially in the UK, with comments suggesting that NATO forces in Afghanistan avoided the frontline, which Prime Minister Keir Starmer described as "insulting and frankly appalling".
The President later tried to walk these comments back, describing British Armed forces as "among the greatest of all warriors", but this does not appear to have dampened public anger.
This series of petitions calls on the UK Government to suspend King Charles state visit to the USA, due to occur in April. The petitions have been created from people across the UK, including a number of ex-armed forces personnel.
