Covid-19 in the United Kingdom

The Covid-19 pandemic transformed our lives in ways few of us thought imaginable before the very first lockdown in March 2020.

The turbulent years since have been marked by additional lockdowns, restrictions on social gatherings, and vaccine rollouts; all deployed in order to control and suppress the transition of the virus. 

For many life has returned to normal but for many others life will never be the same again. There are those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, those who have had important medical care interrupted resulting in long term health consequences, those who have developed long covid after contracting coronavirus, and those who are immunocompromised and still vulnerable to COVID-19.

With the airing of ITVX medical drama Breathtaking in February 2024, COVID-19 is once again a major talking point.
