UK government: stop Britain's part in this cruel and shameful nightmare

The Issue

This is a call for an end to arms sales to Israel, for divestment from Israel and for all forms of peaceful pressure to end the genocide in Gaza and the apartheid in Palestine as a whole.

I am writing to add my support to CADFA's letter to you written on 4th January 2025. Below is the letter written by CADFA's Director

Dear Keir Starmer

We have often written to you from Camden Abu Dis Friendship Association on the subject of human rights in Palestine. We know well  that the issue didn't start in October 2023 -  We have met you several times in the past before that including visiting you along with Palestinian children who talked of the sufferings of their friends in prison.

The situation was already so racist and so dire that we could not imagine it worse and worse and horrifically worse. It is now utter horror.

We believe you know what is going on.  We  hope you also realise how widely and how deeply people care about the disgusting atrocities going on and want an end to this.

You seem to have chosen your path, and it is hard to write to you again on this subject. We are bound to, however. We have friends who have lost so many loved members of their families in Gaza. We have friends whose family homes are under imminent threat in Jerusalem. We have friends whose young families suffer night raids from the army in the West Bank. We cannot stand silent when health workers are tortured and hospitals razed or when children from families pushed from their homes are freezing to death.

There is so much Britain can do but you continue to allow the supply of arms to Israel, provide spy planes and make excuses for war crimes.

Most of us who grew up in the shadow of the disgusting European crimes of the twentieth century hoped that international law and conventions would genuinely make genocide and persecution of civilians "never again" and how ashamed we are of a government that allows this.

We wish you would remember the importance of human rights and humanitarian law and rapidly stop Britain's part in this cruel and shameful nightmare.
