Dear Mr. Maeda,

Since you are currently the head of the entire camera division, covering both DSC and EOS DSLR system, we decided to write this petition to Canon Inc. and also directly to your person.

We are Canon customers and users all over the world (enthusiasts, amateurs and professionals) who would like to place a public petition to Canon regarding the EOS 5D Mark III.

Specifically we want to suggest and request some improvements for this DSLR camera, that could be implemented via Firmware Updates.

The EOS 5D Mark III is a Great DSLR, but after testing and using it, even for professional tasks, we found the importance of some missing features and controls that we would like to list.

As you might already know, thousands of people have suggested and requested many of these features by online inquiries, online reviews, lot of community forums and blogs (even at professional's blogs), and e-mails.

WE SINCERELY HOPE Canon take this little list seriously in account, due to the HUGE IMPORTANCE it represents for so many people, and then give us (the community of Canon users) the improvements we have suggested and requested.

That will demonstrate not only that CANON CERTAINLY listen to customers suggestions, but also will achieve more satisfied customers, and a MUCH GREATER camera that will be the interest of more current and future customers.

Below is the List of Features that we suggest and request to be improved and/or added via Firmware Updates for the EOS 5D Mark III:

1 ) Spot meter linked to active af point for measure the subject's brightness;

2 ) Multi - Spot Metering in P/Tv/Av modes;

3 ) manual exposure compensation in manual mode with auto iso;

4 ) energy economy management of the flash. To be able to "auto-turn off" of the flash, when the subject is not illuminated;

5) Batch conversion on camera, for a massive workflow that change file format of many shots, for example from RAW to JPG S1, or from JPG L to S1. This could speed professional works because don't need a PC\MAC download and batch conversion. 

We do not expect a 5dIII as a 1DX. We believe that these functions can be added to the 5dIII. The Canon eos 5dIII makes us happy, but it may be the real winner dslr.

In considerazione della Sua Preg.le carica ricoperta all'interno della Camera Division, includente sia il sistema DSC che il sistema reflex EOS DSLR, abbiamo deciso di scrivere ed indirizzare la presente petizione a Canon Inc. oltreché, direttamente, alla vostra persona.

Siamo clienti utenti Canon di tutto il mondo (appassionati, dilettanti e professionisti) desiderosi di una petizione pubblica inerente il sistema Canon EOS 5D Mark III .

In particolare vogliamo suggerire e richiedere alcuni miglioramenti per questa fotocamera DSLR, che potrebbero essere realizzati tramite aggiornamenti firmware.

La EOS 5D Mark III è una grande DSLR, ma dopo la prova e l'uso, anche per compiti professionali , abbiamo riscontrato l'importanza di alcune funzionalità mancanti e controlli che vorremmo elencare .

Come forse già sapete, migliaia di persone hanno suggerito e chiesto molte di queste funzioni attraverso indagini online, recensioni online, forum della comunità e blog (anche blog di professionisti ) nonché e-mail .

Speriamo sinceramente che Canon prenda questo piccolo elenco seriamente in considerazione , data l'importanza enorme che rappresenta per tante persone (comunità degli utenti Canon) per via dei miglioramenti che abbiamo proposto e richiesto.

Quanto auspicato dimostrerebbe che CANON SICURAMENTE ascolta i suggerimenti dei clienti e tiene a rendere gli stessi ancor più soddisfatti con una DSLR perfetta ed ancor più ambita dai clienti presenti e futuri.

Di seguito è riportato l'elenco delle funzionalità che proponiamo come implementazioni attraverso l'aggiornamento firmware per la EOS 5D Mark III :

Non pretendiamo che la 5dIII sia o possa diventare una 1dx. Crediamo , o vorremmo che si possa avverare, che talune funzioni possano essere aggiunte ad una macchina che dona tante soddisfazioni, rendendola <<assolutamente>> il prodotto vincente e perfetto
