Heart Of The Matter: Mandate Religious Respect in Anti-Trafficking Programs

The Issue

Greetings!

As a divine feminine deeply committed to my faith, I know that everyone should have the right to practice their religion freely, even in the most challenging circumstances. Challengingly, my own experience with the organization United Way of Pasco County has been marred by hostility towards my faith, violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 196, prompting me to take legal action towards them. This experience has opened my eyes to the broader issue of religious intolerance within anti-sexual trafficking programs—an issue that must be addressed to ensure that these programs are inclusive and respectful of all participants' beliefs for the Almighty good of all.

Sexual trafficking is a horrendous crime that robs individuals of their freedom and dignity. Those affected deserve comprehensive and compassionate support with love to aid their recovery and reintegration into society. However, this support must NOT come at the expense of one's religious freedom. Many conquerors draw strength and healing from their spiritual practices, and it is vital that anti-trafficking programs respect and accommodate these beliefs.

Statistics indicate that a significant portion of sexual trafficking conquerors  identify with a religious faith. Yet, numerous reports highlight instances where their spiritual needs are overlooked, dismissed, or even disrespected in recovery settings. Whether it is through boundaries, prayer schedules, or access to religious support, these aspects of a conqueror's identity should be acknowledged and facilitated.

Programs that receive public or private funding should be mandated to undergo training on cultural and religious sensitivity. This would entail consulting with religious leaders, integrating chaplaincy services, and crafting individualized care plans that respect and incorporate a conqueror's religious practices. Such measures are not only respectful but also enhance the healing process by providing a holistic approach to recovery.

To achieve this, I am calling on DESTINY HELPERS,  policy makers, funding bodies, and program administrators to enshrine the right to religious freedom within the frameworks of anti-sexual trafficking initiatives. Together, we can create inclusive environments that respect and honor the diverse beliefs of all survivors.

Please sign this petition heart full with love to demand actionable steps towards religious acceptance in anti-sexual trafficking programs and ensure that these vital recovery services are both effective and respectful of every individual's faith journey.
