During the Wimbledon fortnight Tim Henman appeared as a guest on the BBC Radio 5 live show 606, when asked what was his most bizarre experience as a professional tennis player he claimed that it was playing on a surface made out of cow dung in Ahmedabad. Henman went on to complain about the smell of the court in a tone which caused offence and was very derogatory he also claimed that we won the tournament. Research on the ATP website shows that that only official tournaments Henman has played in India were in Mumbai in 1995 and New Delhi 1996 he lost in the singles and doubles of both events in the 1st round and both were played on a hard court surface. Comments such as this from Henman are not funny but they simply lay the foundation for nasty and discriminatory stereotypes.

With this in mind I ask you to sign this petition requesting a personal apology from Henman for the offensive remarks that he made on 606.
