Virgin has lost it's franchise to run West Coast Mainline, it will now be run by FirstGroup who just happened to agreed to pay a higher amount to the Government in a bid. Department for Transport have not paid any attention to the general public or their satisfaction levels in this decision making process.

These key railway lines connect some of the major cities in the country. The current service provider, Virgin, are doing a good job in keeping the train schedules on time, achieving good quality of services across the board.

The decision to change the service provider will adversely impact several thousands of commuters for years to come, who are perectly satisfied with the level of service that they receive now. We need the government to consider customer service and satisfaction levels and not just their political interests and financial gains in the interest of the public.
