Synthetic cannabis is a huge problem in New Zealand and some are at the point of wanting it banned. But is that really enough?

Personally I feel banning synthetic cannabis will only cause more problems and sick people in our country.

I have found that a majority of people that do turn to synthetics only do so because of drug testing in the work place. The fact Marijuana is illegal means that some are not willing to take the risk.

The way to stop synthetic cannabis manufacturers is to run them out of business by shifting the demand for their products to something that has been scientifically proven to be far safer, marijuana.

Consider legalising marijuana and restricting work place drug testing to tests for chemicals that actively cause impairment. I believe this would create a big drop in crime, both because otherwise law abiding citizens would no longer be considered criminals and because organised criminals would have one less way to fund their criminal enterprises.

I don't believe it is any of the government's business what we do in our own homes as long as we are not harming others. 

The harms caused by cannabis prohibition are far more damaging than those caused by the plant itself. 

Please consider legalising and regulating cannabis as we do with the far more dangerous substances like alcohol and tobacco.
