Change the traffic law so turning vehicles give way to pedestrians going straight through intersections

The issue

In Australia, UK, Europe and Canada turning vehicles must give way to pedestrians going straight through intersections.  Walkers will not be treated as second class citizens on the road.  This will reduce the confusion at intersections as more people visit NZ.  Share the space.
