Yasonna Laoly

Yasonna Laoly is a prominent Indonesian politician and a member of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle. Born on May 31, 1953, in Nias, North Sumatra, he is educated in law with both a Master's and a Doctorate degree. Laoly has held significant positions in the Indonesian government, including the Minister of Law and Human Rights (2014–2019, 2019–present) in President Joko Widodo's administration, and he's known for his commitment to improving Indonesia's legal framework and human rights record. Prior to his political career, he served as a Professor of Criminal Law at the University of Indonesia, showcasing his extensive knowledge in law.
