Susan P. Evans is a dedicated public servant currently serving as the Chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, representing District 4. She was first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2020 and 2024. Prior to her role as commissioner, Evans served on the Wake County Board of Education from 2011 to 2016. Evans has been a strong advocate for public education, affordable housing, and transit infrastructure. She previously served as Vice Chair and chaired the Great Government and Education Committees. She was elected as the new Chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners in February 2025.
