Richard Walther is a 17-year resident of Lake Forest, Illinois, and serves as the Alderman for the Fourth Ward. He was first sworn into office in 2023 and is seeking a second term in the upcoming election, having been re-endorsed by the Lake Forest Caucus Committe. Richard Walther is a licensed structural engineer specializing in the evaluation and repair of bridges, infrastructure, and buildings. He earned his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. He worked for Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) for 34 years before retiring. Walther has been involved in various community roles, including serving on the Lake Forest Building Review Board (2018-2023), the 2018-2022 Strategic Planning Committee, the Deer Path Road Streetscape Committee, and the Route 60 Corridor – Vision for the Future Committee.
